Maddy's Book Club

As the weather gets colder and wetter I’ve been turning to books to keep me entertained in my down time and have a heap of recommendations that I wanted to share with you all! I’m definitely partial to a bit of interior design and food topics so you will find quite a bit of that in my recommendations but I’ll try to throw in a bit of everything!

Enjoy and please throw any recommendations you might have my way through our instagram dm’s (@floandfrankie)! We would love to hear from you!

LITTLE BOOK OF CHANEL | EMMA BAXTER - WRIGHT

This is the perfect coffee table book. This monograph on Coco Chanel chronicles the life and legacy of one of history's most influential couturiers. From her early days of millinery, through her revolutionary inventions in sportswear and jersey fashions for women, the classics that have made her name, such as the Chanel cardigan jacket and the little black dress, to the global empire of the brand under the helm of Karl Lagerfeld, this beautifully illustrated book offers a fascinating account of Chanel's evolution and innovation. Detailed photographs and sketches of her designs, along with fashion photography and catwalk shots, pay tribute to one of the world's most highly regarded fashion houses and the woman behind it.

THREE BIRDS RENOVATIONS | ERIN CAYLESS, BONNIE HINDMARSH, LANA TAYLOR

Australia's most fabulous renovators reveal their secrets! The Three Birds are best friends and busy mums who ditched their corporate careers to renovate houses, now with massive Instagram and YouTube followings for their design and reno techniques.

If you lust over images of beautiful homes but feel stuck when it comes to your own space, these 'birds' have your back. The book is packed with gorgeous details from their projects, friendly words of encouragement and more than 400 reno tips to help you avoid budget blow-outs, manage trades and timelines, and style without stress. Whether you're starting small or going all-in with a whole-home reno, this is destined to become one of the most useful books you own.

DIOR CATWALK | THAMES & HUDSON

This book gathers together, for the first time, every Dior haute couture collection, including also ready-to-wear collections after the arrival of John Galliano (when ready-to-wear presentations took on a new importance), and the first two collections designed by creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri, appointed in 2016. A rich reference section, including an extensive index, concludes the book. After Chanel, Dior is the second volume in a series of high-end, cloth-bound books that offer a complete and unrivalled overview of the collections of the world's top fashion houses through original catwalk photography. Another great coffee table book to add to your collection.
