As you may know, we've been proud partners with Tearfund NZ since the beginning of Flo & Frankie. We love everything this organisation does to help those in need, and we wanted to let you know about their upcoming event...
Tearfund would like to invite you to join them in Auckland on November 4 and Tauranga on November 3, where they will celebrate the progress of their partners working tirelessly in South East Asia and the Pacific. On the night, you will have the chance to hear the stories of survivors who have been assisted by their partners' work, and be inspired by existing supporters to join their mission.
Tearfund has been fighting to turn the tide on the evil trade of trafficking for over 10 years. Their vision is to see individuals around the world transformed by hope, opportunity and dignity, one precious life at a time. They take a holistic approach to tackle the issue of poverty and exploitation at its roots. They work through a framework of 5Ps, Prevention, Prosecution, Protection, Partnership and Policy to bring lasting change in the fight against modern slavery.
This year's event takes inspiration from the Creative Arts to explore the human experience of modern-day slavery, and they are delighted to present a collection of performances drawing from the mediums of art, dance, music, poetry and song. Their panel of expert speakers will set the stage for presenting Tearfund's future vision to combat poverty and exploitation in Asia and the Pacific. This panel is not to be missed, we felt especially compelled by some of the words shared by panelist, Nikki Denholm "Speaking up for those who have no voice is absolutely vital, because survivors of human trafficking, often have no voice. The least we can do is hear their story and be their voice. By telling their stories, being their advocate, lobbying for a world without human slavery and supporting organisations like Tearfund, you are actively working against human trafficking."
